ABOUT MICHELLE

Michelle Bennett, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC

Michelle began her nursing career after graduating from Rock Valley College with an Associates in Applied Science in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse for 25+ years, she has worked in various specialties including Sports and Occupational Medicine, as a Health Services Coordinator, Convenient Care, Infectious Disease, and the last 15 years working in Internal Medicine. She continued her education at Aurora College and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors and being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing. She then went to Chamberlain University and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her goal is to help patients become more functional in their daily living and get to the cause of many of the issues they are dealing with to enable them to get the most out of life and get them back to doing the things they enjoy most. Michelle is married to James Bennett. They've been married for 16 years. They have 5 daughters ranging in ages from 25-33 and 4 granddaughters ages 3 months, 4, 5, and 8. They have a dog, Thor, and 2 cats, Musky and Rue. They love the outdoors, camping, hiking, boating, and most of all spending time with their family making memories.

I went through a full series of treatments with Benefits Health and Wellness. Before I had to "one leg it" up stairs and was in a 8/10 pain. I really didn't have much hope of being able to go up a flight of stairs without having 8/10 pain. They suggested exercises that I could do at home. Very easy and not at all painful. I saw a difference after just a couple of treatments. Now I am able to do stairs without 8/10 pain. The atmosphere in the office was quiet, calm, encouraging and a lot of fun. You can't ask for more than that, but in addition, you get better. I would recommend Benefits Health and Wellness to anyone with joint pain. They will be honest with you and tell you if they can help, and what improvement to expect.

I am sold on TPIs! I have always carried my stress in my shoulders and as a result trigger points have caused a lot of pain. Since having trigger point injections the pain and tenseness has subsided. TPIs help to relax the muscles by causing the knots to release and in turn the pain subsides. Michelle is amazing at finding the trigger points and knows the exact point to place the injection.

The Bac on Trac is amazing! It has helped with my low back pain and stiffness from scoliosis. Colton is very knowledgeable and checks your progress often. He is also very interested in whether or not there is anything else going on with you and is very helpful with suggesting other stretches and exercises to help those problem areas. He doesn't just tell you what to do, he actually does them with you.
